Jenna, our head photographer and studio owner, has over eight years of experience with newborn sessions. JMS is also the only newborn safety certified studio in the area and the staff takes continuing safety and education courses yearly to maintain certifications and accreditations.

Once you book with JMS, you will complete a pre session questionnaire that will not only help us plan your session but will allow us to custom create sets that are unique for your family. Our studio has all the props, outfits, and accessories needed to make your newborn session nothing short of amazing. We also offer in studio hair and make up to moms who want the full experience!

Still, if you have something special or sentimental you would like included, feel free to mention that in your questionnaire and bring it with you the day of.

Yes! While we specialize in Maternity and Newborn fine art portraiture, we also offer milestones, seniors/youth, and weddings by request.

With two associate photographers on staff, we are able to offer a wide variety of options including mini and specialty sessions as well.

Moreover, you can decide if you want in-studio, outdoor, or nude/semi-nude photos for your maternity session or if you would like to include family in either session, at no additional cost. Feel free to talk to our professional photographer for more information.

First, we recommend booking with anticipation. Our photography studio takes a limited number of newborns a month, so make sure you pre-book, if at all possible. By prebooking your due date, you are guaranteed a newborn time slot, when baby arrives.

A pre session questionnaire will be sent after booking, so the studio staff is sure to design sets that you will love!

You will receive an email with further instructions about your session before session day. Also, please plan to bring baby in between 5 and 10 days after birth.

Some general tips for our clients include ensuring you keep your baby awake for a while before the photography session starts and to plan to feed baby a full feed, when you arrive at the studio, the morning of the session; that way, you will get those adorable poses you're looking for. Moreover, if they're full, they're likely to fall asleep faster, which will also get them those sleepy poses everyone loves.

Finally, leave the rest to our photography experts. Our team is trained to work with babies and use safe posing techniques. Even if you have a high-risk baby, we'll know how to make the experience as comfortable as possible for everyone.

We strongly recommend that baby comes in for session between 5 & 10 days old, if at all possible.

If you are not able to attend during that window, the sooner the better is advised. Not only is it safer to do newborn sessions with younger babies, they are also easier to work with and while no particular pose is guaranteed because sessions are baby led, the chances of achieving a full and complete gallery are higher with younger babies.

After the age of 4 weeks, we will book a milestone session insead of a newborn.

YES! The studio has an amazing collection of custom and couture gowns for our expecting and new moms to utilize at no additional cost. In your questionnaire, you will provide your color and style preferences and the studio will have options pulled and ready upon your arrival.

For newborns, we have everything needed in studio including outfits, hats, wraps and accessories for our littlest clients to use during session time.

Yes, it can be. It takes years of experience to safely pose and photograph newborns. Jenna is an expert in maternity and newborn photography, so she is comfortable with nearly any situation or circumstance. Considering her eight years of experience and extensive training in newborn photography and newborn safety, you can rest assured that your experience at our studio will be nothing short of exceptional.
